Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame Honours Recent Inductees
April 19 the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame honoured its most recent inductees with a Wine & Cheese reception celebrating the unveiling of new wall panels.
Guests in attendance at the reception were among the first to see the commemorative panels dedicated to Standardbred horses Armbro Emerson, Armbro Feather, As Promised and Run The Table as well as Thoroughbred horses Bold Ruckus and Lauries Dancer.
In 2005, headed by Managing Director Louis Cauz, the New Panels Project was launched. Over the next three years the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame plans on investing approximately $125,000 into the project that, upon completion, will for the first time see each and every inductee recognized simultaneously.
Each and every horse, both Standardbred and Thoroughbred, who have been inducted are now recognized with their own story, and in almost every case, a photo. Eighteen panels honouring 110 horses were installed last June in the first phase of this three-year project to honour each horse and person. And in June, new panels in the Builders category will be added to recognize the achievements of 92 Builders. In 2008 we will be honouring jockeys, drivers and trainers."
The 2007 Horse Racing Hall of Fame inductees will be announced on Tuesday, May 22 and will be honoured at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Silent Auction to be held at the Mississauga Convention Centre in Mississauga, Ontario on Thursday, August 23.
