Minor change approved for OSS
Dual Hemisphere Stallions
At its meeting of July 3, 2008, the Board of the
ORC approved a minor change to the requirements for stallions registered with the Ontario Sires Stakes Pro- gram. In dealing with some exemption requests, the Board approved that time spent by stallions in quarantine in North America can be counted towards their requirement to be in Ontario for 170 days.

Effective September 3, 2008 Woodbine will revise its policy regarding toe grabs. This Shoe Policy applies to both the Polytrack and the Turf course. The revised policy is as follows :
No toe grabs, caulks, stickers, inserts, blocks, turndowns, trailers or heel extensions will be allowed on front or hind shoes. Only  at, Queen’s Plate, Queen’s Plate XT or equivalent may be used on the Polytrack or Turf.

& JOCKEy SCHOOL TRAiNiNg PROgRAM
The School of Animal Science, Continuing Education Program, has an opportunity available for a contract Exercise Rider in the Certi ed Exercise Rider and Jockey School Training Program. The anticipated term of this contract will be from December 8, 2008 to February 20, 2009.
Responsibilities will include instruction in riding skills and theory speci c to the  at racing industry.
The successful candidate will have at least  ve (5) years of licensed horse racing exercise rider experience. Candidates with other combinations of related industry experience may be considered. Intermediate and advanced knowledge of the horse racing industry in the exercise rider sector, superior communication and interpersonal skills and strong organizational abilities are required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience; however, Olds College will provide Instructor Skills Workshops to support the successful candidate’s teaching skill requirements.
