Fort Erie End of 2006 Season
Jockey Eddie Robinson (left) will once again be heading south to Tampa Bay Downs for the winter while Rocco LaTorre, agent for jockeys Corey Clark and Neil Poznansky, will be heading to Fair Grounds to gallop horses. He hopes to be back in New Orleans working for trainer Josie Carroll however Josie has yet to confirm her winter plans. “I look forward to going back,” says Rocco, “the cuisine is awesome.”

Cats always seem to find a comfy spot to waste away the day
Assistant Trainer Ray Greenway (left) and Trainer Deb Simpson will once again be heading to Tampa Bay Downs for the winter with a dozen horses for owner Carlo D’Amato. New Trainer John Attfield (right) will also be taking a horse to train for the winter in Florida. Deb will be heading to Tampa on Nov.1 to prepare for the arrival of the horses on Nov. 9.

David Petton, owner of 3-yr-old filly Mistura, and Trainer Al Bird with 8 year-old gelding Alex’s Love, winner of 2 of his 3 races since claiming him mid-season. David hopes to take his newly claimed filly to Penn National and Charles Town this winter while Al will be doing his usual winter job, working for Sam-Son Farms in New Orleans.

Obrian Alleyne, a hotwalker and groom for Trainer David Katryan with 5-year-old gelding Manzie. Obrian says he might go to Florida this winter with the horses,“Wherever they go I’ll be going.” he says.
More than a week after the freak snow storm hit the Fort Erie region, power had yet to be restored to the backstretch. A generator provided power to the kitchen and HBPA office while the majority of the barns remained without electricity and running water.
