Deverell Has Terrific Day
Apprentice jockey Dean Deverell had a terrific day at Fort Erie on August 29 when he saw the winner’s circle on 4 occasions and placed in three other races on the nine race card.
Dean won the first two races aboard Regal Disclosure for trainer Jordan Lay and Royal Dilemma for Terrance Ryan respectively. He then placed third in the third; was a winner of the fourth aboard Hazor for trainer Anthony Polsinello; he had seconds in the sixth and seventh races and finished off his day with a win in the eighth aboard Shot Gun George for trainer Ross Armata.
Bob Webb Teaches Fire Safety
Woodbine Entertainment Group’s Manager of Fire Safety, Bob Webb, has been lending his expertise in fire safety to the University of Guelph Equine Program. The program deals with new grooms and horse owners in both the thoroughbred and standardbred industries. Bob provides the students with a fire safety presentation as well as an on-line fire safety question and answer program. Bob will also be par- ticipating in a fire safety and prevention lecture to the children of the equine program at this year’s Royal Winter Fair.
