Whiskey Wisdom (Wild Again - Primarily by Lord at War ) Owned by Windfields and Kinghaven Farm, standing at Windfields Farm Oshawa. Whiskey Wisdom is a leading 2005 International Sire by 2 yr old ABC Runner Index (3.38), and sire of 23 stakes horses and earners of more than $7.6 million . Sire of 2005 stakes winners, Dave the Knave, Whiskey and Low, Verne’s Baby and Chivas.
The Lamb Trophy presented to Broodmare of the Year 2005:
Whooo’s So Special (Cavanaghs Special - Lady Whooo). Owned by Shauna Campbell, Whooo’s So Special was CSHA Champion Brood/Yeld Mare and Reserve Champion TB Mare at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto in 2005.
Reserve Champion Broodmare 2005:
Imperial Miss (Imperial Falcon - Arch Miss). Imperial Miss was bred by Windfields Farm Oshawa and is owned by MaryEllen Kennedy. She is now the dam of 5 foals to race, 5 winners, including
stakes winner (ESTONIA) and stakes placed (Imperial Alydeed). Her progeny earnings from 5 foals to race are $1,144,660 ($228,932/runner). She has a 3-yr-old by El Corredor and a 2-yr-old by Cat’s at Home in training and is in foal for 2006 to Whiskey Wisdom.
The Windsong Memorial Trophy presented to Owner/Breeder of the Year 2005:
Bernard and Karen McCormack have been involved in thoroughbred racing, ownership and breeding for many years in the Toronto area. Bernard is known to
many of you as the Sales and Marketing Director at Windfields Farm Oshawa. More recently they have moved to a new farm in Janesville Ontario and continue to breed thorough- breds for the yearling sales mar- ket in Canada and the United States. In 2002 they were the recipient of the ECTA Top Race Earner with Embossed who has joined their broodmare ranks and in 2005 were the breeder of the ECTA Top Race Earner, Top Race Earner Reserve, and the Top 2yr Old Earner.
The Marlandy Stables Trophy presented to Junior of the Year Award 2005:
The Junior Competitor of the Year is awarded to Virginia
McFadden who competed very successful- ly in the Ottawa Valley Schooling Show Circuit, the Trillium Circuit and the “A” Circuit with her horses Lone Willow and No Spare Change. Lone Willow finished Reserve Champion Overall in the Child/Adult Hunter Division and 4th over- all in the Green Hunter Division in the OVSS shows.
President’s Award for 2005:
Presented to Marilyn Bandy for her continued contributions to the Eastern Canadian Thoroughbred Association. Marilyn has acted as President of ECTA and is currently Treasurer and has support- ed ECTA in its endeavours for many years.
