Her dog’s name is RJ and Judith said in an email to The Game, that he is not only becoming her best buddy but he is giving her more independence and security. RJ alerts Judith to the smoke detector, alarm clock, door bell or knock, telephone, oven buzzer
and even when her name is called. She writes that RJ has also alerted her to boiling pots and loud outside noises.
The cost of raising and training a Hearing Ear Dog from birth to graduation is approximately $20-$25,000.
