Chaplaincy Golf Tournament T set for July
The CTHS of Ontario’s Annual Awards Dinner, honouring the Ontario-bred champions of 2007, will take place on June 13 at the Glencairn Golf Club, 9807
he second annual Chaplaincy Golf Tournament is
Regional Road 25, in Milton, Ontario.
Highlights of the event will include the presentation
of 67 awards recognizing the outstanding breeders of 2007, including Breeder of the Year Award and the Mint Julep Cup Award. The festivities will also include a silent auction with the proceeds going to the LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society.
Tickets for the awards dinner are $78.75 per person and can be ordered by contacting the CTHS of ce at 416-675-3602. The cocktail reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., with dinner and the awards to start at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s special guest will be Canadian Champion and Hall of Fame Jockey Sandy Hawley.
Two upcoming events will help raise much needed funds for CARD, the Community Association
pancakes. The day continues with the traditional ride through the park followed by a BBQ throughout the afternoon.

al CARDathon in the Park, an event where CARD riders, family, volunteers, corporate sponsors and local celebrities join together as a team to ride horses through the trails in the G. Ross Lord Park in order to raise funds by collecting pledges or providing sponsorships.
The cost to golf is $200 each
and includes valet bag drop, putting contest, locker room access with towel service, course competition, shared power cart, dinner prizes and more!

The festivities will begin at 12 noon and include a full round of golf, dinner, and an auction. Tickets are on sale now for $150 each or $75 for the dinner and auction only.

ECTA 2007 Award Winners
The Eastern Canadian Thorough- bred Association hosted their annual awards dinner on Saturday,
Jazz Star (Dixieland Band – Starita). Jazz Star is owned by Shirley Prosser of Box Arrow Farm and is the dam of this year’s Top 2yr Old Earner Jazz Nation. Jazz Star is the dam of 5 foals, 2 starters, 2 winners with 2007 prog- eny earnings of $131,467.

CROWN ATTORNEY is the sire of RAHY’S ATTORNEY, ECTA’s Top Earner for 2007 as well as the sire of many win- ners in Canada. By Average Earnings per starter, CROWN ATTORNEY ranked second nationwide in 2007. CROWN ATTORNEY stands at John Carey’s Westmeath Stud in Ontario.

of Box Arrow Farm, Portland On- tario. Shirley has been a great sup- porter of ECTA over many years and has contributed signi cantly to our Association. In addition to hosting an Annual ECTA Picnic at her farm she is currently serving as member of our 2008 Board of Directors.
