Campaign to Name Dr. Michael Colterjohn Room at Hospice
Before the start of the CTHS Ontario’s 2016 Winter Mixed Sale it was announced that pledge forms were available to help fund the naming of the “Dr. Michael Colterjohn” room at the new Matthews House Hospice (MHH) in Alliston, Ontario.
MHH is a registered Canadian Charity assisting the chronically ill, caregivers and their families from North York to Simcoe, Bradford to Caledon.

Dr. Michael Colterjohn passed away on March 28, 2012 after a determined battle with brain cancer.
Michael grew up surrounded by horses, fostering a passion for show jumping and fox hunting which inspired a career as one of Canada’s top equine reproductive veterinarians. Michael joined Gardiner Farms in 1987, and his Presidency developed
the Gardiner Farm name into one of the most respected and successful thoroughbred breeders in the industry. Following the deaths of George and Helen Gardiner, subsequently Michael and Dr. Moira Gunn, and farm manager Sherry McLean built Paradox Farm Inc, into one of Canada’s top thoroughbred breeding stables.
Ryan Alderson with eight year-old gelding, Serious Indeed, Hip No. 104 for Consignor Layne Giliforte. Serious Indeed was claimed for $5000 by trainer Layne Giliforte on June 26 at Fort Erie Race Track. Previous owner Deborah Fletcher along with Sharon Simms (wife of trainer John Simms) purchased him out of the sale for $1000.
