Setting: HUGH’s house, near a newly installed doggy door
(HUGH nishes screwing the last screw of a doggy door installed for TOODLE LOU. HUGH stands and looks at TOODLE LOU, who is still watching him.)
HUGH
(In a high-pitched, baby voice.) Alright buddy, this is just for you. Now you can go in and out whenever you want because Daddy is too lazy to take you out all the time, but we’re not going to tell anyone that. (HUGH walks to the counter to grab dog treats.)
TOODLE LOU
(With some accent.) You don’t have to tell me that. Do you know how many times I’ve used those piles of clean laundry as a pee place? Too many to count, I’ll tell you that.
HUGH
(He walks back to the door.) Alright buddy, now all you have to do is go through the door. (He
