SAFETY MATS
Portwest Safety Mats offer a range of safety solutions for your working environment which have both anti-slip and anti-fatigue properties. You will not find a better way of eliminating slip hazards in your work place. The anti-fatigue properties increase productivity and the long term health of people using them.
DIN 51130
Testing of floor coverings - Determination of the anti-slip property - Workrooms and fields of activities with slip danger - Walking method - Ramp test.
This standard specifies a method which serves as a suitability test for the determination and classification of anti-slip properties of floor coverings intended to be used in workrooms and work related areas with slip hazards.
A test person with test shoes walks forward and backwards in an upright position over the floor covering to be tested, the slope of which is increased from the initial horizontal state to the acceptance angle. The average acceptance angle reached serves to assess the degree of anti-slip. The acceptance angle is determined on floor coverings on which lubricant has been applied.
R-numbers are rated from R9 to R13 within DIN 51130. This is to access the level of slip resistance. R10 is the rating accepted for anti-slip in a working environment.
DIN 4102 B2
Reaction to fire tests - Ignitability of building products subjected to direct impingement of flame.
For this part of the standard samples are stored in climatic conditions for 14 days and then subjected to a flammability test where they are ignited when hung vertically. The burning distance is not allowed to exceed 150 mm. Any droplets as a result of burning are also recorded.
