   Remembrance Quilt, North REC
Maureen J., Recovery Worker, started
a Remembrance Quilt to help the Older Adult
REC participants remember individuals who passed away. For at least 2 months, the
members diligently worked on their quilt, and continue to add panels when members
of the Older Adult program leave or pass away. The group that works on the quilt use the time to remember the good times with
the individuals who are no longer in the program, and to channel their feelings into recovery-oriented activities...and what a beautiful product it is!

Stomp out the Stigma...is what we did.
It turned out to be a good day.
Almost everyone from Juniper Street represented.
That was cool. There was representation from
all over. The line dancing was great. Everyone from all walks of life danced – even me for a minute! It was an awareness for everyone who stood for something. I was proud to be there and to be a part of it all.
It was nostalgia for me as we sat around eating lunch and enjoying the festivities like we did 30 plus years ago, when Love Park was probably just a dream and an idea on someone’s desk. It brought back so many memories. Beautiful feelings are what I used to have back then and now I have them again.
Maybe now people will pay attention to what stigma really is and stomp it out for good.
