Volunteering
TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
P am Warner did not know a lot about the Pat Roche Hospice Home before she began volunteering her time. Sometimes she would pass the estate on her Turkey Hill walks in Hingham. “I was looking for meaningful volunteer work,” says Warner. “When my friends invited me to an event at the Pat Roche Hospice Home, I realized that this might be a place where I could make a difference.”
A retired educator, Warner did not foresee that her volunteer work would be centered on hospice families. But after seeing the importance of the mission and recognizing her contribution in the house, she has become an advocate for this crucial community resource. “The care is excellent here,” says Warner, who has been volunteering since 2016. “I think each volunteer would come here for hospice if confronted with that difficult decision.”
