ABCD: Teams are made by the Golf Shop with 1 player from each of 4 handicap groups.
AAAA, BBBB, CCCC, DDDD: Teams are made by grouping similar handi- caps together.
FORMAT OF PLAY DEFINITIONS
AABB and CCDD: Players are flighted into two groups and foursomes within each flight are made up of higher and lower handicaps.
BEST BALL: All members of each team play their own ball on each hole. At the completion of each hole, the lowest score among all team members (Gross and/or Net) serves as the Team score. This format can be played as 1-, 2-, or 3-Best Ball, indicating the number of balls to be counted on each hole. The same ball cannot be used for Gross and Net on any given hole.
CHAPMAN: 2-Lady Team competition where teammates switch balls after their tee shots, select the one better ball after their second shots, then play alternate shots until the ball is holed out. Scores cannot be posted.
LOW PUTTS: Count the number of putts on each hole once the ball is on the putting surface. Individual or Team Play.
RINGER (ECLECTIC): A multi-round tournament that takes the best scores a player (or team) has made on each hole over the course of multiple eligible rounds.
SCRAMBLE: Played by 2-, 3-, or 4-person teams. All players hit their tee shot, pick the best ball, and then all players place their ball within one club length of that ball (no closer to the hole) and play their next shot from that spot. Play continues in the same manner choosing the best ball after every shot.
In a STEP-ASIDE-SCRAMBLE, the golfer whose ball is chosen for the next shot “steps aside” and does not hit the next shot. This manner of play con- tinues all the way to the green. A variation of Step-Aside format is that all four golfers may putt once reaching the putting surface. Scores cannot be posted.
STABLEFORD: This is a form of Stroke play wherein each player earns points (e.g., 1 point for Net Bogey, 2 points for Net Par, 3 points for Net Birdie, and so on). Scoring is based on total points earned for the round. High points wins. Individual or Team Play.
