Nordic Insulation Course Education (NICE)
In the Nordic states, the company also relies on external expertise for its training activities. Special courses for insulators in shipbuilding
Armacell organizes regular workshops dedicated to installing elasto- meric materials in shipbuilding applications, too. Last year, employees from various companies which carry out insulation work for the Meyer shipyard were invited to the training centre in Münster. On the pro- gramme was the fabrication of fitting covers for typical plant compo- nents in shipbuilding. All ten participants successfully completed the course and were certified. For decades the Meyer shipyard (Papenburg, Germany) has only used elastomeric insulation materials made by Armacell on its cruise ships and stipulates the Armacell certificate when awarding contracts. Established shipping companies from all over the world commission huge ocean liners from the shipyard based in Emsland, a region in the north-west of Germany.

In Sweden too the programme can count on a real pro: Per-Åke (Perra) Larsson has been training apprentices for the Swedish insula- tion association Isoleringsfirmornas Förening (IF) for many years. Now “older students” can also benefit from his experience in installing Armaflex. Courses focus on the application of tube and sheet material and the correct use of the Armaflex adhesives. Upon successful com- pletion of the course participants are awarded the Armaflex certificate.
