Armacell opens new insulation plant in Russia
Last year, Armacell opened new production facilities in Russia. The newly-built plant in Lobnya, a town located to the north of Moscow, manufactures an extensive range of products, including high-density mate- rials. These are supplied not only to distributors and general construction companies in the Russian Federa- tion, but also to customers in Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Azerbaijan.
Delivering on international growth strategy
“The Russian market is very interesting for us because the local demand for high-performance insulation products is continuously growing,” explains CEO Patrick Mathieu. “With our new plant in Russia we underline our consistent effort to build-up regional market expertise in order to supply first-class services to the local market.”
Tapping into increasing market potential
Armacell has been present in Russia since 2008. After establishing the subsidiary ‘OOO Armacell Rus’ and opening warehouses in Novosibirsk, Krasnodar and Saint Petersburg, the next logical step for the company was to construct its own production site to meet steadily growing demand. The Russian team consists of 70 locally recruited employees. They have all received intensive training at the plants in Münster and Środa Śląska to ensure that Armacell’s high quality standards throughout the world are achieved.
Formal opening of the state-of-the-art facilities
Guests at the official opening of the plant included customers and other business partners as well as the Mayor of Lobnya, Nikolai Grechishnikov. After an impressive laser show on the milestones in the company’s success story the guests were invited to take a tour of the factory.
“Our new plant in Lobnya is probably one of the most efficient factories in the Armacell group. When plan- ning and designing the production line for Armaflex sheets and tubes we were able to utilize all the experi- ence we have gathered in our programme of continuous improvement in recent years. Thanks to this com- missioning went smoothly and we were able to start production within a very short period of time,” says Bernd van Husen, Armacell General Manager for the regions Europe North and Russia.
