New extension for the European Development Centre
In recent years, Armacell has steadily expanded its research and development activities and as a result the European Devel- opment Centre in Münster was bursting at the seams. A much- needed 180 m2 extension was inaugurated in spring, providing office space for nine employees.
Dutch insulation association visits
Armacell
Last year, Armacell had the honour of welcoming the Dutch insulation association (VIB) to Münster and organizing the annual conference. Altogether 45 VIB members came to “the world’s most liveable city” to exchange ideas on the development of the insulation sector in the construction industry and its significance for climate policy. The pro- gramme included a technical presentation on the importance of envi- ronmental product declarations for green building projects, the launch of a new manual dealing with all aspects of technical insulation and a tour of the plant.
UL Environment recognizes Armaflex environmental product declarations (EPDs)
In the Asian-Pacific market too, Armacell has received recognition for its pioneering initiatives in sustainability. At the International Green Build- ing Conference in Singapore, the company was the first manufacturer of flexible technical insulation materials to present UL-certified environ- mental product declarations. Independently verified EPDs are also becoming more and more important in Asia. India, China, Korea and Taiwan are already among the top ten countries with LEED-certified buildings.
