tBivouac made of Arma-Chek Silver in the Swiss Alps
An endurance test at temperatures around freezing: just before Christmas some 250 students from the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture set off with self-made bivouacs for the Stöckalp in the Melch valley (1,081 m). The aim of the project was to construct a bivouac which is both light and weather-proof. For one of the 53
groups Armacell’s pre-covered Arma-Chek Silver was the material of choice. In comparison to other bivouacs their model was lighter in weight and had a smaller pack size. Most importantly, it was also one of the warmest tents, protecting the five students against the icy tem- peratures.
