Each bed-post has two rectangular boxes set in the mid- body at a 90° angle. These boxes are all the same size (36 mm by 32 mm) and were presumably for a wooden railing that went around the top of the bed, assuming that these objects were in fact a sort of finial on the corner-posts or a bed. There is a separate, decorated, ferrule-like ring at the base of the object which would fit a round pole of 48 mm diameter. It is obvious that these are not the reet to bedsteads as suggested in the Remonstrantie.
