EDINGTON
kylE DUNNING POllaRD
9th December 1958 – 28th July 2018
It is with deep sadness that Edington and District Branch of The Royal British Legion announce the untimely death of it’s recent Chairman and Secretary, Kyle Pollard.
Kyle passed away peacefully at his home in Coulston surrounded by his wife and family after a long and very bravely fought battle with cancer. Kyle was an inspiration due to the way
that he dealt with his illness, retaining his sense of humour to the very end. No doubt his career in the Parachute Regiment had equipped him with the inner strength to do so.
Kyle will be very much missed as he was always ready to step forward whenever action was required as is evidenced by the fact of his involvement in local affairs. He held two positions in the Edington and District Branch of the Royal British Legion as well as being Clerk to Coulston Parish Council and also responsible Health and Safety at, and maintenance of, Coulston Village Hall, all at the same time. Clearly he ignored the old army saying “never volunteer” and local folk were better
off because of it.
His funeral took place at Semington Crematorium was very well attended with a large contingent of ex-Parachute Regiment personnel in their red berets with medals on display to say farewell to their old comrade in arms.
I and my colleagues will miss him greatly but not as much as will his wife Teresa, his children and grandchildren, to whom he meant so much. Our thoughts are with them.
