The historic Jabez Smith house was built in 1777 by young Jabez’s grandfather, to replace the family home that had burned two years earlier. Today the house is owned by the city of Groton and open by appointment. Named for Jabez’s father, the house contains furnishings, maps and artwork passed down from generations of the Smith family.
