Sherwood CC has a rich history of hosting PGA Tour events such as the Shark Shootout, hosted by Greg Norman, as well as the World Challenge, hosted by Tiger Woods. Sherwood has a strong link to Hollywood, as it was also the location
for several television shows and movies, most notably, the 1923 version of
Robin Hood, starring Douglas Fairbanks, and the 1938 version, The Adventures of Robin Hood, starring Errol Flynn. Recently, the engagement party in the film Bridesmaids (2011) was filmed at Sherwood Country Club.
