STRUCTURE OF THE EXAMINATION
The examination comprises three papers. The mark allocation by papers and profiles is shown in the table below.

This workbook focuses on developing the knowledge and skills required for the Paper 02.
THE PAPER 02
The paper comprises FOUR questions. You are required to answer ALL questions. The questions are drawn for all areas of the syllabus. Marks will be allocated as follows:
4 35 marks toward the Theory profile,
4 30 marks toward the Productivity Tools profile, and
4 25 marks toward the Problem-Solving and Programming profile.
Paper 02 is weighted at 45 per cent of the total mark for the examination.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO BE ASSESSED BY PAPER 02
Paper 2 will assess two skills and abilities in the ratio 40:60- 4 Knowledge and Comprehension (KC); and
4 Use of Knowledge (UK).
Of the 90 marks for Paper 02, 36 are allocated to KC and 54 to UK. These skills and abilities
have not been defined in the syllabus.
In general, the profile, Knowledge and Comprehension, refers to the ability to understand the facts, concepts, principles, processes and theories covered by the syllabus.
Use of Knowledge usually refers to the candidate’s ability to:

use facts, concepts and principles;
organise information as a basis for classification;
make judgements based on evidence, draw conclusions and make relevant
recommendations;
develop documents, spreadsheets, databases and web page designs; and develop solution algorithms.
