Terms and Conditions
All prospective buyers MUST BE registered to bid through DVAuctions. Acceptable methods of payment are Credit/Debit Card, OR if approved by sale organizers, cash, cashier’s check or trav- eler’s check, and personal check. Issuing a check with insufficient funds is a felony and will be handled as such.
Conditions of the Sale - Each horse will have a starting bid, as well as a set bidding increment. Reserves may be placed on individual lots, and those lots will not sell unless the reserve price is met. Bidding will close at 4pm CST on September 19th, 2020. This is a “soft close” auction, meaning that If a bid is placed on any lot within the last 5 minutes
of the closing time, the entire auction will remain open for bidding for an additional 5 minutes. This will continue until no further bids are placed within the five minutes immediately preceding the closing time. Changes to the catalog will be announced before bidding opens on Sept 12th, 2020 through the BV&D facebook page, our website, www.bvdheritag- esale.com, as well as DVAuctions. All Sales are FINAL. Horses become the buyer’s responsibility as soon as sold, and any costs that are incurred from that time forward are the responsibility of the buyer. The buyer will have 14 days from the close of the sale to arrange transport.
Payment - Payment is expected immediately following the close of the sale unless previous arrangements have been made with the individual ranch. Please note a 3.75% buyers’ premium is added for all credit card purchases.
Health Inspections - Health papers with a Coggins test will be issued for all horses. Out of state and out of country buyers need to know their respective requirements and costs for transport.
AQHA Registration & Transfer - Registration papers/transfer forms will be mailed to buyers. Fees are the respon- sibility of the buyer. Pending registration papers will be mailed in a timely manner once received from the respective Breed Association.
Guarantee- We guarantee all horses to be as represented in the sale videos and descriptions. To the best of our knowl- edge the horses are free from disease.
Buyers are encouraged to call each individual breeder with questions and are welcome to visit the breeder’s facilities be- fore the close of the sale for in-person inspection. Pre purchase exams may be set up at the buyer’s expense before the sale closes. Pregnant mares will be verified before the opening of bidding, but do not sell with return privileges.

Regarding foals in the sale. We put a lot of effort getting foals ready to be weaned, making sure they are eating hay and grain, and are used to being away from their mothers. They are in good condition and it is our expectation that you pick up the foal as quickly as possible following the sale. Foals will be weaned by close of the sale and will be available to pick up immediately following. This is the policy unless otherwise stated.
Loading out: Arrangements must be made with the individual breeder for pickup and load out. Every effort will be made to accommodate pickup, but it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the breeder is notified of the pickup time and shipping details. Please give the breeder as much notice as possible to allow for the horse to be prepped for shipment. Special circumstances may only be made with the individual breeders in regard to transportation.
NOTE: Before You Buy - Please ask about the worming/vaccination schedule and anything you would like to know about each individual horse.
When the auction closes, the horse belongs to the new owner. Any extra fees from that time forward for vaccination, vet/medical, farrier, transport, international shipping, if and when the horse is in Blue Valentine and Driftwood Heritage Production Sale LLC’s care, will be the responsibility of the new owner. If additional time is needed beyond the 14 day window for pick up, arrangements must be made with the individual ranch, and the following schedule/fees apply: After 14 days, $4/day. After 30 days- $10/day
Above mentioned fees must be paid before the horse can be released.
