What’s your team look like? At the end of the day, it is mostly me. I do have a friend and my brother who are big sources of support. If I say I need this done I can trust it will happen. But keeping up the business and handling the finances is on me. I give them credit all the time, but I understand I own the biggest risks. What’s your ultimate goal? I just do the things I like doing and have fun! I have plans and things to do next but I stay focused on current tasks so I don’t get over- whelmed. I’ve always been known to have a keen sense of fashion. The Sneaker Gang designs were born out of my love for that and the real-world experience of those who wear and collect sneakers.
We began to talk about the struggles that were college and being the first graduates in our families. Boone grew up in what most would consider the hood. Surrounded by thugs and drugs although he never joined up, he later resorted to starting Sneaker Gang. “We’re not condoning any gang-related activities and we are not to be confused with one. We’re affiliated!” Voted as a top 100 in Hous- ton’s creative pool, the energy behind his brand power is making the moves that push you forward. He expressed how he found a new practice with meditation and it has made a difference for him. “It calms me down and helps with focus.” I can confirm that Marc Boone is a hell of a guy to have around.
