Self Empowerment1 Taking Control
By: Michael Wall BE AWARE
Awareness consists of knowing everything about your environ- ment, yourself and your worth. To be fully aware, you must acknowl- edge that you can disengage from anything stressful.
2LET GO OF THE PAST
Achieving inner peace is crucial. To do this you must live in the present moment or the “now”. Holding grudges leaves you filled with
bitterness and becomes an interference with the peace you need.
3DEVELOP A NEW MINDSET
When you are determined to expand and grow as a human being you cultivate a new mentality. Think about your current thoughts
and beliefs. Are they serving you and your purpose well? Cultivate a new mindset so you can acknowledge that you have control over your mind, not the other way around.
4DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE
There is a very fine line between the future and self-empowerment. Accept the truth of what the future holds for you. Submit to what is
and what will be. Accept each challenge regarding tomorrow as an empowering event and something you can utilize on your journey to inner peace.
5TRUST OTHERS AND YOURSELF
Trust is the quality that will thrust you toward being a better deci- sion maker. Make your choices and stick by them 100%. Trust your
own judgment and ability to decide. Trusting others will allow you to let go of worry, doubt and dread.
6RECOGNIZE WHAT YOU HAVE
To see who you are you must see what you have. Recognition is about the who, what, when and where you give your power. Once you
see and understand your own abilities in disempowering processes you can achieve self-empowerment.
7RELAX
Take time out of your daily life to relax. No matter what it takes this is a must. Meditation is an excellent way to free your body of stress.
Take a few minutes of every day to seek out and enjoy silence. This will improve your attitude and your nights will become more restful.
8BE RESPONSIBLE
To be more empowered you have to know exactly what you are responsible for in your life. Knowing this allows you to be guilt free
from life circumstances. Take responsibility for you and your life to be empowered and independent.
9SHARE YOUR GREATNESS
Share what you know with others. Allow people to see how great you’ve become because of your new found independence and peace.
Everyone has a list of things that define them as individu- als. Things like strengths, weaknesses, skills and talents that they posses. Unfortunately a lot of us are very much un- aware of our true abilities or undervalue ourselves.
By simply taking the time to take a good look at who you are and becoming more aware of yourself you can learn a lot about what you can actually benefit from by developing the confidence and strength to set realistic goals and fulfill your true potential.
Knowing your limitations is a key factor to achieving real empowerment. Take control of your life by making positive changes and setting goals. Taking the steps toward setting goals both short and long term as well as developing new skills, acts to increase confidence which, in itself, is essential to self empowerment.
There are 10 things that we should do and practice regularly to achieve and maintain empowerment.
When you lie, you feel guilty. Guilt leads to shame. Shame leads to feelings of worthlessness. Honesty is always the best policy. Don’t treat yourself any different than you treat others. Be truthful with yourself at all times.
Always remember at the end of the day you are the only person you can truly count on. Have the confidence to know that you will never fail yourself. Being empowered, confident and independent will improve your relationship with yourself and the people around you. Know your worth and never settle for less than that worth.
