Responding to the Pandemic Update
In response to to the pandemic Wawa Wawa and and and and The Wawa Wawa Foundation put forth several programs and and and and initiatives to to provide funds and and and and support to relieve hunger across our entire chain which was in in in progress when reported in in in the 2019 Annual Report On March 20 20 20 20 2020 The Wawa Foundation established the COVID-19 Emergency Food Distribution Fund Fund During 2020 this Fund Fund granted a a a a a a a total of $425 500 to to 273 organizations that were working to to distribute food in in the the midst of the the COVID-19 pandemic In addition Wawa Community Care programs and and and initiatives supported dozens of local efforts to to provide meals to to seniors children and and and families and and and large product donations of excess product were made directly to large food banks from our supply chain More than $1 0 million in in fin financial and in-kind support from Wawa Wawa and The Wawa Wawa Foundation have helped fight hunger in in in our communities as a a a a a a a a a result of COVID-19 In addition Wawa associates expressed gratitude to to to healthcare heroes with free coffee in store and through outreach to to to hospitals and healthcare institutions to to provide direct food donations to to these local everyday heroes serving our communities in in in a a a a a a a a critical time Wawa Wawa and The Wawa Wawa Foundation COVID-19 Update
