The neural (related to the nervous system) connection between Gratitude and giving is intense, both literally and figuratively. A region deep in the frontal lobe of the brain, called the ventromedial prefrontal cortex, is key to supporting both.
What is the function of the ventromedial prefrontal cortex?
The highly interconnected ventromedial prefrontal cortex serves as a region for binding together the large-scale networks to aid emotional processing, decision- making, memory, self-perception, and social cognition.
