   EDITOR’S FOREWORD
2018 in the Gene Keys Society was a year of discovering
that collective organisms can also experience growing
pains during the “Terrible Twos”! Luckily, Gene Keys midwives, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends and fellow kids came forward in abundance, to share a Society carer role and remind us to love and laugh together often.
When we focus on tensions between where we are in any given moment and where we feel called to travel, it’s easy to become fixated on apparent gaps between ‘ideals and reals’. In compiling a ‘year in the life of the Society,’ I’ve been reminded again of the value of looking back to review our steps.
Our 2018 Annual Report invites you to pause and celebrate with us! While our design specialist volunteer, Danne Saring and I have been compiling and editing figures and reports, I’ve felt in- spired by the strength of the vital signs of our still infant Society.
Arihia Sun enriched our Society life through most of the year. For many of us, the sun went in momentarily in September, when she left, even as we supported and rejoiced in Arihia’s freedom to follow her personal star. Gifted others soon stepped up, to share and bring their unique genius to her former tasks. And of course Arihia has not really gone anywhere!
A lens that sees Gene Keys fractal family and friends as separated between past, present and future is only a lens. Beyond that limited view, an unseen hand weaves its magic fabric of communion and humanity, threading within a galaxy of living light the stars of all who heed the transmission’s call. These stars twinkle and vibrate eternally together in silent song.
Gratitude to Gene Keys, Richard and our amazing Society team. Gratitude to those who donate and volunteer their gifts. Gratitude to all who traveled with us in 2018 and are still here, singing and harmonising our collective song.
Love, Midi
