other women of influence in the region. We enjoyed a wonderful
lunch reception after a breathtaking tour of the estate’s many
artifacts and incredible gardens.
Hillwood Estate’s owner, Marjorie Merriweather Post was one
of the first women to have influence over her company as the
heiress to the General Foods empire at the age of 27. She was a
trailblazer for women in business throughout the world.
Thank you to WWLI and the Hillwood Estate for a
wonderful afternoon!

the tunnel to experience how central it is to the project, and how
the freeway serves as an example of just one of many unique
challenges of the site. The group traversed the nearly complete
200 Massachusetts Avenue building from exterior to interior,
exploring from the basement infrastructure up to the stunning
terrace views. The expansive windows also provide views of the
neighboring structures and parks under construction.
A special shout out of thanks goes to Lindsay Mackie of Coakley
& Williams for providing cold bottles of water for the tour! She
lugged a cooler full of liquid pleasure to the great benefit for all.

2018 CNCC Golf Program

The Hillwood Estate mansion tour marked our first joint partner The CNCC Golf Program is designed to build confidence on

the course, through a combination of networking, small group
golf lessons with female colleagues in the industry and a 9-hole
scramble to showcase improved skills. This year’s program
kicked off on April 19th with camaraderie, networking, and
practice swings at TopGolf Alexandria.
At the event and on the CREW DC website afterwards, women
were able to sign up for six weeks of lessons at Congressional
Country Club, Reston National Golf Course or East Potomac
Golf Course. After gaining the experience and skills needed to
play alongside their business colleagues with confidence, CREW
members were ready to Swing into Spring at the Annual CNCC
Classic 9-Hole Golf Outing on May 14th, at the Westwood
