Senior Fitness Wearables
Just because you’re getting older doesn’t mean you have to forego a healthy lifestyle. With all the hype around healthy eating, dieting, and fitness regimens, regardless of your age, you can maintain a healthy lifestyle. For seniors, there are a number of fitness trackers, gadgets, and devices, which will help you remain mobile, get up and move, and remain motivated.
Pedometer
A pedometer is a simple device which tells you how many steps you take a day. However, some of the newer technologies also indicate: calories burned, distance traveled and mobility alerts (so you move if you have been inactive for some time). You not only know how many steps you’ve taken daily but can better gauge your overall health-stats for the day as well.
SmartWatch
A fitness tracker or a smartwatch is another great fitness wearable for seniors. These devices sync with your smartphone so you can keep track of your goals. You will get mobility alerts, motion detectors, and the watch will ‘warn’ or alarm you when you’ve been inactive for too long. You can easily track progress, review charts/ graphs, and see your distance traveled, allowing you to better yourself on a daily basis.
Heart Rate Monitors
Keeping track of your heart rate is vital, especially as you get older. For seniors, it will give you a better indication of your exertion, exhaustion levels, and overall fitness levels. You can track heart rate after a workout, throughout the day, and this information can be used by your doctor, for overall fitness assessments over time.
There are several fitness wearables for seniors. Regardless of age, lifestyle, or mobility issues, these are a few
devices which will help you get up, keep moving, and remain active as you age.
