The next phase of our story brings Hailey Kinsel and Sister together and that phase starts with a former racehorse named Josey. Hailey later replaced the injured Josey with Thunder Stone, or “TJ” as he is called. TJ was the first rodeo performer for Hailey. He was a race bred horse sired by Sticks And Stones by Easy Jet and out of See F Jets Candy by Pine’s Easter Jet.
The next horse in the scheme of things was a mare named DM Shaky Hand,
a daughter of Royal Sissy Irish, that had
the barn name of Baja. Baja was bred by Mundorf, and he fills us in on how she
came to be owned by the Leslie and Hailey Kinsel. “I had given that mare to my vet and they sold her to Leslie. When that mare was a foal, my vet liked her, and she had done a lot of breeding work for me and so I gave her that mare.” The Kinsels bought DM Shaky Hand and they liked her so much they went looking for another one. Mundorf had one named
DM Sissy Hayday. She was entered in the Texas Best Sale at Waco, Texas. The Kinsels bought her for $11,500 as a two year old.
DM Sissy Hayday has now carried Hailey to the height of the barrel racing world with three WPRA World Champion Barrel Racing titles in 2018, 2019 and 2020. They have won the prestigious RFD-TV American Rodeo in barrel racing three times, in 2017, 2019 and 2021. They also won the 2017 College National Finals. The Hailey/Sister team has set arena records, including a record at the 2020 National Finals Rodeo for a standard pattern of :16.56. They won the average
at the 2020 National Finals Rodeo with earnings of $270,615 and an overall time of 170.95 seconds for the 10 rounds. They added the 2020 RAM Top Gun Award for earning more money than any other rider in a single event at the NFR. Hailey is the first WPRA member to win a World Title,
NFR Average title, a Top Gun Award and fast time award in the same year. Sister has had her own titles in barrel racing. She was the 2019 AQHA/PRCA Barrel Racing Horse of the Year, the 2019 WPRA Co- Horse of the Year and the 2017 Scoti Flit Bar Award winner.

When we look at the pedigree of Sister, we get two paths to follow. One path will take us through the performance arena to racing and the other path will focus on racing as the main performance event taking us to barrel racing.
The racing side of the pedigree starts with Royal Shake Em, the sire of Royal Sissy Irish, and will carry on down through her dam Thats Sissy Baby by Lazbuddie.
