starter and that horse was unplaced. Her sire is Master Hand and her dam is Pollylarks Moon, a race mare that was the winner
of seven of her 21 starts with two seconds and three thirds earning $18,808. She won the 1983 Hillbilly Holiday Futurity. She is the dam of three ROM’s from five starters with Injuns Moon being her biggest money earner. Pollylarks Moon’s sire is Moon Lark and her dam is Easy Polly by Easy Jet.
THE SIRE SIDE
PC Frenchmans Hayday, or Dinero
as he is called, is the sire of DM Sissy
Hayday, aka Sister, and that brings us to the second path that takes us to speed through performance. Dinero won over $400,000 in the arena, not only as a barrel racer but also as a header and heeler. He has been a Wrangler NFR qualifier and in 2005 finished third in the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Barrel Racing with Sherry Cervi riding. Corey Petska and Dinero won such events as the Mike Cervi Memorial Roping and the team roping at the famous Salinas Rodeo. He was voted the 2005 PRCA/AQHA third place heeling horse of the year with Petska in the saddle.
Sherry Cervi explained to me what it is like to ride Dinero. “He is so gritty. I always said if he was three legged, he would still give you 110%. He was a tough horse, and you have to have that in a rodeo horse. If he had been a gelding, he would have been even better as a performance horse. He was a lot of fun to run barrels on.”
Dinero is a son of the performance horse sire Sun Frost, a 1979 son of Doc’s Jack Frost by Doc Bar by Lightning Bar. The dam of Doc Bar is the AA rated mare Dandy Doll. She is by Texas Dandy and out of Bar Maid F. Bar Maid F is by Bartender II and she is out of Nelly Bly by Red Joe of Arizona, a 3/4-brother to Joe Reed II, the sire of Leo. The dam of Doc’s Jack Frost is Chantella, an AAA rated mare sired by War Chant, a AAA runner by Three Bars. War Chant is a stakes winner of the 1954 Pacific Coast QHRA Futurity, and he set a track record for 300 yards as a two year old in 1954. The dam
of War Chant is Hula Girl P by Ed Echols. Hula Girl P was tagged to be a cutting mare,

but when horsemen challenged Art Pollard, her owner, to a race, she became an AA rated runner on the track. Ed Echols was a AA rated racehorse sired by Zantanon, a son of Little Joe. Zantanon raced in Mexico where he was known as the “Man O’ War of Mexico” for his
racing success south of the border.
Hula Girl P is the dam of several AAA runners in horses like Arizonian and Sonoitan.
The dam of Chantella is Bardella, who is a full sister to Lightning Bar. They are sired by Three Bars and out of Della P, a Cajun-bred
