LOS ALAMITOS - SALES
The 16th annual Los Alamitos Equine Sale did well in what has been a difficult year. This year, 237 of the 300 horses offered sold for $5,153,800, compared to the 2019 sale that saw 245 horses selling for $6,318,900. Overall, 204 of the 259 yearlings offered sold for an average of $21,474; all nine weanlings of- fered sold for an average of $18,189; five of eight foals in utero averaged $36,600; and 19 of 24 broodmares offered sold for an average of $22,442.
There were two horses that tied as the sale high sellers. The $110,000 co-high seller was Hip #66 Glass Ceiling (Favorite Cartel-Babe On The Fly, Strawfly Special), a 2019 bay filly con- signed by Burns Ranch, Agent and purchased by Legacy Ranch Inc. The filly is half-sibling to New Track Record setter Fly Thru The Fire. Glass Ceiling is by Champion sire Favorite Cartel and out of multiple stakes winner Babe On The Fly.
The sale’s other co-high seller was Hip #298 Cleared To Fly (Favorite Cartel-Seperate Flight, Separatist), a 2019 bay filly con- signed by Burns Ranch, Agent and purchased by Edward Allred. Cleared To Fly is by multiple Champion sire Favorite Cartel and out of Separate Flight.
Consigned by Burns Ranch, Agent and purchased by Legacy Ranch, Inc., Hip # 66 Glass Ceiling was the $110,000 co-high seller.
