                 International
MILLIONAIRE MATURITY
 Jockey Jesus Ayala
Satevo Race Track, an unofficial track, is in charge of organizing the “International Millionaire Maturity,” an unprecedented event in Mexico for
Quarter Horse racing due to the quality of expected entries and the value of the estimated purse.
The race is for horses stabled in Mexico and in the United States, with a payment of $10,000 and will be run at a distance of 300 yards.
The nomination fee was $1,000 ($24,000 pesos), which the owners or representatives of 124 horses, belonging to various stables located in Mexico and the southern United States, had paid as of April 21.
Because the number of horses nominated exceeded expectation, the organizers and stakeholders agreed on the race format taking into consideration the 6-stall capacity of the starting gate and that the race is run in three phases: trials, semi- finals and final, including the consolation race.
Trials: To be run Aug. 1-2, 2020, running 15 races per day, being 13 four-horse trials and two five-horse trials. The winner of each race (30 horses) advances to the next stage.
Semifinal: Will run Sept. 6, 2020, and will have six races of five horses each. The winner of each semifinal advances to the final, and the second place horse will move on to the consolation race.
Final and consolation: Are scheduled for Oct. 18, 2020, and will have six horses in each race.
The estimated purse is $1,240,000 and its distribution will be defined on June 20, as well as other important details of the event. There will be an additional prize money from the funds that are raised by the “Calcutta,” where each horse will be listed according to his odds in the race. The purse is estimated to be higher
than the aformentioned and its distribution will also be determined on June 20.
It is an event that has raised a lot of expectation in Mexico and the southern United States, because it has drawn dominant horses from top-notch stables from both match racing and race tracks alike. The Millionaire Maturity is dedicated to the jockey Jesús Ayala (“El Chiquis”), native of Aldama, Chihuahua, who has had a successful career at Los Alamitos Race Course. In later issues, we will discuss the details of his brilliant career.
A few participating stables at the Hipodromo de las Américas in Mexico City will make the trip to Northern Mexico. Such is the case of Rancho El Suspiro, a leader who, in alliance with RH Racing and Cuadra San Judas Tadeo, participating with Maybellina (Horse of the
Year and Champion American 2-Year-Old
Filly, daughter of PYC Paint Your Wagon);
with the winner of multiple stakes races Litely Political, by Apollitical Jess; and with WL
Shez To Fantastic, by Fantastic Corona Jr. Cuadra Los Gavilanes nominated the gelding Lafishingonabugsmoon (Nofishinonafullmoon), AQHA Mexican Champion and Champion Mexican Aged Gelding.
Satevó is a town located in southern Chihuahua. The current Satevó Race Track
is a facility that was modernized and opened
on April 28, 2019, and is among the best equestrian racing venues in the country. Several of the horses visiting from distant regions are already in their stables for optimal conditioning. The management of the property is taking the necessary actions to have the infrastructure and sufficient capacity to accommodate this event.
