Ease On Down produced three foals sired by Sixarun – all three ROM and stakes finalists. In addition to Casino Lights, she produced Sixastar who was a finalist in the Trinity Meadow Yearling Sale Futurity-G3, and Sixajet who was a finalist in the Kansas Jackpot Futurity-RG1.
Ease On Down is by World Champion Easy Jet. Easy Jet is by Jet Deck, another World Champion that is sired by Moon Deck and out of Miss Night Bar by Barred. The dam of Easy Jet is Lena’s Bar TB by Three Bars. This gives Casino Lights a breeding pattern of 4x2 to Easy Jet.
Miss Past Due is the dam of Ease On Down. She is a 4-time race winner with six seconds and five thirds from 31 starts. She earned $6,119. Miss Past Due is the dam of 11 foals with ten starters, eight ROM, three stakes winners and one stakes place runner. Sheswright is the second stakes winner for this Miss Past Due. She is a four-time stakes
winner including the Buttons And Bows Stakes (twice), the Three Bars Handicap and the La Chiquitas Handicap. She earned $109,258. Past Due TB, the sire of Miss Past Due, is a winner of seven starts with three seconds and seven thirds. He won $39,550. Past Due has had an interesting impact on Quarter Horse racing in that he has a limited sire record with just two stakes winners from
75 starters. His leading money earner and first stakes winner is Past Carin, winner of the 1971 Sangre De Cristo Stakes as well as stakes placed in the 1970 Sunland Spring Derby, third in the 1970 All Distance Championship Series #4 and third in the 1971 Three Bars Handicap. An added note: Both of these stakes winners are out of Top Deck daughters.
A major part of the Past Due influence today comes from his daughter Call Her Anything. Equibase shows that Call Her Anything had
17 starts with one third place finish on her record. She earned $489. When bred to Rocket Wrangler, she produced a mare named Rusty Rockette who in turn is the dam of Lil Bit Rusty. Lil Bit Rusty is the dam of AQHA Racing World Champion Whosleavingwho; Wholelota Cash, stakes winner of races like the MBNA American Mexico Challenge-G3; and Coronas Leaving You, a two-time stakes winner including the Firecracker Futurity-G2. Coronas Leaving You is now a sire of horses that have won over $11 million, including his leading money earner 2015 AQHA Racing Champion Aged Stallion Open Me A Corona.
Beduinos Rusty, a daughter of Lil Bit
Rusty, is a stakes winner of the Sam Houston Futurity-G1. She is the dam of stakes winners like Hesa Lil Bit High, Rustys Quickid and Brimful. Beduinos Rusty is also the dam of Sheza Lilbituino who is the dam of Jess A
Lil Bit More and she is the dam of Fernweh, winner of the 2019 Ruidoso Futurity-G1
and Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby- RG2. Shenoshespecial is another race winning daughter of Lil Bit Rusty. She is the dam of Shenoshercorona, and she is the dam of Favorite Cartel, a leading sire of over $21 million. The sire of Fernweh is Favorite Cartel, thus her sire and dam trace to the mare Call Her Anything,
the daughter of Past Due, through Lil Bit Rusty. Why so much interest in Past Due?
The answer is in his pedigree and how the foundation of the modern running Quarter Horse is influenced by Domino and Ben Brush. Past Due is by Be Sure Now, a son of War Admiral by Man O’War. The dam of War Admiral is Brushup by Sweep. The dam of Be Sure Now is Boy’s I’m It who is out of Blind Date by Black Toney by Peter Pan. The dam of Past Due is Trinket Box by Sweep Like by Sweep. The dam of Trinket Box is Black Memphis by Peter Hastings by Peter Pan.
The dam of Black Memphis is Memphis Belle by Bon Homme by Sweep. This gives Past Due a breeding patten of 4x3x5 to Sweep, a son of Ben Brush and out of Pink Domino
by Domino. Peter Pan is by Commando by Domino. Thus, Past Due has a breeding patten of 5x4 to Peter Pan. Therefore, Past Due has
a concentration of the blood of Domino and Ben Brush, two important contributors to the modern running Quarter Horse.
Bar Y Lady 51, the dam of Miss Past Due, gives us the other side of the coin so to speak, as she is a foundation Quarter Horse. Bar Y Lady 51 was bred by Jane, Don, Howard and Robert Driggers of Santa Rosa, New Mexico. It shows that she had two starts with one win earning $185. It also shows that she never received a racing Register of Merit. She is the dam of 10 foals with nine starters, but only three ROM earners. Bar David, winner of $6,296, is her leading money earner. Time Passer and Miss Past Due are her other ROM earners, and they are full siblings.
The sire of Bar Y Lady 51 is Grey Hound by San Siemon, a son of Zantanon who is
the sire of King P-234. Zantanon is sired by Little Joe. The dam of San Siemon is Panita by Possum. Little Joe and Possum are full brothers by Traveler and out of Jenny by Sykes Rondo. San Siemon is best known as the broodmare sire of the performance stallion Leo San, the sire of the NCHA World Champion Cutting Horses Mr San Peppy and Peppy San.
Bar Y Lady 20, the dam of Bar Y Lady
51, was bred by the Driggers Land & Cattle Company. She is sired by Billy Clegg, an AQHA Hall of Fame member. Billy Clegg is by Paul Ell by Hickory Bill by Peter McCue. The dam of Paul Ell is Baby Ruth, a full sister to Jenny, the dam of Little Joe and Possum. Bar Y Lady 15 is the dam of Bar Y Lady 20, and she is sired by Norfleet.
Why so much interest in PAST DUE? The answer is in his pedigree and how the foundation of the modern running QH is influenced by Domino and Ben Brush.
