 NEWS BRIEFS
Positive Article
Thank you for the positive article in the Speedhorse April issue. It was very encour- aging and highlighted the very important work the Chaplains are doing for the horse racing industry. Well done!

Kudos For May Issue
I always enjoy your human interest sto- ries on good people. Your May issue had two articles that I liked. Margaret Hawkins story touches readers because it would be easy to overlook and never share. Thankfully there have been many stories like this in America and that has made all the difference.
Youth Industry Profile is a great touch. The story on Glenn Stodart is very good. It helped me connect the dotted lines and understand more about the next generation and what horses have done to make them better leaders for tomorrow. Our industry does a great deal for youth and never claims credit for what we do. I never get involved in projects unless it makes life better for youth and their volunteer leaders.
Speedlines and Larry Thornton certainly is a hit with horsemen.
Thanks for doing a great job. Ed McNelis

Fearless Freda is a 3/4-sister to Champion Deelish ($604,153) and is out of six-time stakes winner and New Track Record setter Such An Easy Effort ($496,127).
Fearless Freda raced in 1996 and 1997, winning six races including the Texas Classic Derby-G1, QHBC Championship Classic-G1, and Retama Park Derby-G2 in which she set a New Track Record for 440 yards. Fearless Freda moved to the broodmare band where she became the producer of over $1 million in earners. She was awarded the title of AQHA Dam of Distinction
in 2012. Fearless Freda is the dam of Champion Fredricksburg ($369,304)
and Champion Fredaville ($325,321,
Ntr). Fearless Freda is also the dam of AQHA Dam of Distinction Dasha Freda ($111,741), this year’s Speedhorse 2015 Broodmare of the Year who produced 2015 World Champion Heza Dasha Fire and 2015 Champion Ima Fearless Hero.
