Royal Crown Horse Sale
Rock Springs, Wyoming • 8/7-8/2021
The Royal Crown Horse Sale was held Aug. 15 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The Royal Crown is a breeders’ incentive designed to benefit the industry by giving back a substantial amount to the shareholders and breeders, with stallion and breeder money split 50/50 to give mare owners an incentive to breed to Royal Crown stallions.
The sale featured 85 consignments and 24 outs or no sales, for a total of 61 horses selling for $770,700 and an average of $12,634.
The $46,000 high-seller was Hip #68, DTF Im That Guy (Dash Ta Fame-AR French Corona, Frenchmans Guy), consigned by Bob and Darian Burt and purchased by Sheldon Follman. The 2019 palomino colt is by #1 all-time leading barrel sire Dash Ta Fame and out of a daughter of Frenchmans Guy, the 2019 Future Fortunes Stallion of the Year with over $14 million who recently died in August.
The second-highest seller at $33,500 was Hip #42, Whoze Gold (Whoze Your Daddy- Little Frosty Lena, Dox Bueno Dinero), a 2016 palomino gelding consigned by Tim and Paula Schaak and purchased by Matthew Tastad. Two horses sold as the $30,000 third-highest sellers:
Hip #68 DTF Im That Guy sold for $46,000 as the high seller.
Pink Buckle Barrel Horse Sale
Guthrie, Oklahoma • 10/8/21
The Pink Buckle Barrel Horse Sale was held Oct. 8 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The sale was held in conjunction with the Pink Buckle Barrel Race.
A total of 95 horses were consigned to the sale, with 20 no sales/outs, for a total of 75 horses selling, including two embryos, for total sales of $2,828,500 and an average price of $37,713.
Hip #51 was the $250,000 high seller. Treis My Fame (Tres Seis-Champagne Fame, Dash Ta Fame) was consigned by Brian Anderson, Copper Spring Ranch NM LLC and purchased by C.J. Lembke. The 2020 filly is a half-sister
to Pop The Bubbly, top 10 2021 Ruby Buckle Guthrie Regional Futurity Open 1D Average Champion. Treis My Fame is by Champion Tres Seis, an Equi-Stat leading barrel sire of earners of over $2.7 million and out of stakes finalist Champagne Lane.
The second-highest seller at $240,000 was Hip #41, Tres Chasin Babe PZ (Tres Seis-Babe On The Chase, Chasin Firewater) consigned by Mario Zerlotti & Guy Peixoto and purchased by Teton Ridge. The 2019 filly is also sired by Champion Tres Seis, a multiple Champion race sire & leading barrel sire, and she is out of Babe On The Chase, a barrel Champion with $337,227 in earnings.
Hip #51 Treis My Fame was the high seller at $250,000.
BARREL SALE RESULTS
Hip #18, Starlight Look (Starlights Smartchic- Look N Famous, JD Look), a 2018 buckskin gelding consigned by Jeff and Jodie Bailey and purchased by Dillon Hoffman; and Hip #44,
Drain The Swamp (Casino Heist-Bound For Fame, Dash Ta Fame), a 2017 palomino geld- ing consigned by Lora and Nick Nichols and purchased by Hailey Hardeman.
There were two co-third-highest sellers at $110,000 one of which was Hip #50, an embryo donated by John and Becky Maubach and purchased by Beaus/Robinson with the proceeds from the sale benefiting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation via Operation Unicorn. The
embryo is by BFA World Champion Epic Leader, who was ranked as the second-richest futurity horse in 2012. Hip #64, Smooth Mellow Guy (A Smooth Guy-DTF Mellowdoc, Dash Ta Fame), was consigned by Bill & Debbie Myers and pur- chased by Presley Smith.
