Son Justin also trains and runs their training facility in Asher, Oklahoma. Michael and Linda’s other son, Cody, is a former trainer and now runs a business in Albuquerque. Cody continues to own a few horses in partnership.
Cowboys Gun Z now has two wins from four career starts with $1,510,000 in earnings.

at the 2022 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale for West Texas Racing Partners, bidding $125,000 to get the son of Flying Cowboy
123. The sire’s first foals are two-year-olds this season, and he had two other runners qualify for the All American races.
“He’s had an exceptional first year,” said Joiner about the stallion.
Running C Ranch bred Cowboys Gun Z in Oklahoma from winner CF Smokin Gun, a daughter of Tres Seis. The mare has produced two winners from three starters, including multiple stakes winner Relentless Gun.
Santos Carrizales Jr. trains second-place Trane Station V (Favorite Cartel-Attack The Cartel), ridden by Everardo Rodriguez, and third-place Dark Nme
(Hes Relentless-Quions), piloted by Francisco Calderon. Valeriano Racing Stables owns Trane Station V, who also ran second in the Rainbow Futurity-G1. TYKHE Racing owns Dark Nme.
Completing the field were Flyin Rabbit 123 (Flying Cowboy 123-Hardtoget), Dashing Tres (Tempting Dash-Sissys Tres Girl), Corner Pocket 123 (Flying Cowboy 123-Shanondoah), AJ Precious Jewel (Apollitical Jess-CC Seis), Devastating (Favorite Cartel-Quirky), and Cuz Lightyear (Corona Cartel-Jess Cuz). Sandstone Mountain was scratched.
