ONE COOL CORONA

One Cool Corona was just as his name suggests in the $448,771 LQHBA Sale Futurity-RG1 at Delta Downs on Sept. 2.
In a tight three-way photo finish, One Cool Corona maintained his composure long enough to fend off his challengers in the lucrative 350-yard event.
Ridden by J. R. Ramirez, One Cool Corona broke smartly and dueled with the earlier leader Last Freightrain in the early stages of the race. Despite Last Freightrain opening a clear 1-length advantage in
the lane, One Cool Corona kept his head
and chased gamely. With one last surge approaching the wire, One Cool Corona wore down his rival and poked a head in front at the ideal time to prevail at the finish. The winner, who was sent off at odds of 11-1, stopped the timer in :17.725 over a sloppy (sealed) track and earned a speed index of
88. Last Freightrain and Hoztile Takeover finished in a dead heat for second.
