Fast Prize Cartel Dies
Multiple Graded stakes sire Fast Prize Cartel (Corona Cartel-Fast First Prize, Heza Fast Man) died in August at EG High Desert Farms in Cal-
ifornia. Bred by Weetona Stanley, Fast Prize Cartel is the sire of 39 winners, 8 blacktype runners, and earners of more than $1.3 million from limited starters. He was a leading first and second crop sire. On July 28, his filly Letty Cartel won the $40,000 California Breeders’ Matron Stakes-RG3 during the California Breeders’ Night at Los Alamitos Race Course. His leading runner is multiple stakes winner Matilda Czech SI 98 ($437,918), followed
by Letty Cartel SI 94 ($128,929). Fast Prize Cartel is a half-brother to five black type runners, including World Record Setter Fast Prize Zoom
SI 112 ($192,875). He is an unraced son of Corona Cartel and out of Heritage Place Futurity- G1 winner Fast First Prize. His second dam is Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash, a full sister to all-time leading sire First Down Dash and the dam of 10 black type runners.

of Fame Horse Bugs Alive In 75 (Top Moon-Ralph’s Lady Bug, Jack’s Jet). Racing for only two years, the 1973 stallion earned $550,969 from 23 starts with a record of 13 wins, 4 seconds, and
2 thirds. Bugs Alive In 75 won the 1975 All American Futurity, West Texas Futurity, and Sunland Park Fall Futurity and placing second in the Kansas Futurity and Rainbow Futurity. He was named Champion Stallion, Champion 2-Year-Old Colt and High Money Earning Horse in 1975, later on being inducted into the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2010.
After his racing career, Bugs Alive In 75 went on to sire 479 winners from 892 starters with 80 blacktype horses including Copper Bugs, winner of the 1986 Canterbury Championship and third place finisher in the 1984 All American Futurity. He also sired Bugs Royal, winner of the 1982 La Primera Del Ano Derby and finalist in the 1981 Ed Burke Memorial Futurity.
The sorrel stallion also had successful progeny in the barrel arena, being the sire of 2-time NFR horse, I Got Bugs, who placed in three rounds in 1987 and won three rounds in 1989.
  Apollitical Blood
2012 bay stallion Apollitical Blood SI 99 ($1,519,800) will stand the 2024 season at Royal Vista Ranch Inc. in Wayne, Oklahoma. Apollitical Blood (Apollitical Jess-Brazilian Dasher, Fishers Dash) raced at two and three years of age, winning the 2015 All American Derby-G1 and earning the Champion Three-Year-Old Colt title that year. He also was second in the Golden State Million Futurity-G1, fourth in the All American Futurity-G1, fifth in the Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1 and a finalist in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity-G1 and Texas Classic Derby-G1. He is the sire of over $12.5 million with $40,099 average earnings per starter, including Champion Trump My Record

  Dash Master Jess
2010 sorrel stallion Dash Master Jess SI 103 ($275,697) will stand the 2024 season at Scarlett Hill Farm in Weatherford, Texas. Dash Master Jess (Mr Jess Perry-Dash Master Miss, Dash For Destiny) began his breeding career at Scarlett Hill, and his fee will remain at $1,500. Owned and raced by Cesar Rosales, Dash Master Jess won the Sam Houston Championship Challenge-G2, Hialeah Invitational Championship, and Hialeah Derby. He was also sec- ond in the Sam Houston Derby Challenge and third in the Sawgrass Stakes. From six crops to race, he is the sire of over $2 million in earners with 12 black- type runners, including stakes winners Jess A Dashin Angela SI 110 ($248,565) and Doc Mccrocklin SI 98 ($230,105). Dash Master Jess is a half-brother to 2-Time Champion Significant Speed SI 106 ($517,605), dam of Jess Significant SI 103 ($419,635) who is the dam of Champion Significant Heart SI 98 ($257,292).
