                    horses to learn. The ranch has 200 acres of pasture, roomy barns, a training track and starting gates. The corral fences are made of cross-ties and smooth wire.
In the past Bob has trained his own horses at the track, too, but now he plans to stay home and send the runners to a trainer at the track.
Roswell is home for both Bob and Janel. “I was raised here around horses and cattle,” Bob says. His horse training career began in Dodge City, Kansas. “I started breaking horses for a guy there.” He’s been breaking and training horses for a living since then.
Jane says that she was never around horses much until their marriage seven years ago. She’s a quick study, though, and is now obviously at home with the horses.
Their 2-year-old son Matthew already rides and “helps” with the horses, so there will probably be Stockton-bred horses running for many years.
All their horses are New Mexico bred, of course, and they will have three of them in the New Mexico Bred Derby at the Downs at
Rossetta Dial, the Stockton’s best producing mare.
 Santa Fe this year. They won’t be the highest priced horses there, but they’ll be among the front runners at the finish line. And that’s what counts.
Visitors are always welcome at Rockin R S Ranch. A true horseman, Bob says, “Everything is always for sale.” Everything, that is, except Matthew and Jane.
