MR TRES EFFORT
  Carlos F. Paez’s Mr Tres Effort broke sharply from post 9 and rolled to a three- quarter length victory in the September 24, $100,000 New Mexico State Fair Juvenile Stakes (R) for state-bred 2-year-olds.
Prepped by Eric Valenzuela, Mr Tres Effort went 400 yards in :19.598. Luis Flores-Garcia rode the homebred son of TF Featured Effort.
Mr Tres Effort was coming off of a second- place finish in one of 11 New Mexico State Fair Futurity (RG3) trials on September 9. The sorrel gelding’s sire, TF Featured Effort, is a 13-year-old son of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Feature Mr Jess. Racing in New Mexico from 2011-15, TF Featured Effort earned $343,403 from 33 starts, and his five graded stake wins included the 2012 West Texas Derby (G3) and 2014 West Texas Maturity (G3), both at Sunland Park.
From four crops, TF Featured Effort has sired the earners of more than $1.09 million, including stakes winner Run Potion. A half- brother to 2001 Remington Park Futurity (G1) winner Le Magnifique FG, the stallion
is owned by Jose R. Riojas and Carlos Paez, and he stands for a $2,500 fee at The Quarter Company at Chamberino, New Mexico.
Mr Tres Effort is out of Beyond 15, a winning 7-year-old son of the Strawfly Special stallion Desirio who was a finalist in the 2017 Four Corners Futurity at SunRay Park. He traces back to his third dam, Senorita Tres, a daughter of champion Tres Seis who 12 stakes from 2007-09, including the 2007 All American Congress Futurity (G3) at Beulah Park near Columbus, Ohio, and the 2008 Bradford Stakes (G3) at Hoosier Park near Indianapolis.
The $58,000 winner’s share of the purse from Mr Tres Effort’s first stakes score boosted his earnings to $195,002. The gelding has won three of seven outs, and he was a finalist in
the April 3, $313,000 New Mexican Spring Futurity (RG2) at Sunland Park.
Jess A Response finished second and was followed by Doin Something Right, Cartel Superstar, Demi Leigh, Wahine, Jess Stevie, Jenavi, Easy On The Eye and Big Daddy Forever.
Jess A Response is a homebred son of Jess A Chicks campaigned by Mike Abraham and Cheryl Stokes. The sorrel gelding has banked $31,827 from five races, and he was a finalist in the August 7, $380,000 Zia Futurity (RG1) at Ruidoso Downs.
Doin Something Right races for Empire Racing and Pavon Racing LLC, who purchased the bay son of Eye Am King for $37,000 at last year’s New Mexico-Bred Sale at Ruidoso Downs. The gelding has won one of seven starts and has earned $31,401.
