Preliminary results for the Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yearling Sale saw 137 yearlings sell for $3,537,100, which is an increase over last year when 152 yearlings sold for $2,730,000. The $25,818 sale average was up from $17,961 from 2021, and the median price also increased to $16,000 compared to $12,000 last year.
The highest seller at $130,000 was Hip
#155 Ridethehightide (Big Daddy Cartel-Ms Riptide, Ocean Runaway). The gelding is a
full brother to Desert Classic Futurity winner Nineteen Crimes and half-brother to multiple graded stakes winner Mister Riptide, who ran second in the All American Futuriy-G1. His first-fourth dams are all stakes winners and/or stakes producers. Ridethehightide was consigned by MJ Farms, agent and was purchased by Roger K. Beasley, Simmons Racing, Slash Z Quarter Horses and Wootan Racing.
