        1. It is mandatory that all active stallions in New Mexico be tested serologically negative for EVA and vaccinated for EVA within 10 days of the negative test.
2. Stallions testing serologically positive, without documentation of prior vaccination, are required to have semen analysis from a qualified lab to determine the presence of the virus and if so detected are considered a shedder.
3. All stallions testing negative are required to be vaccinated 30 days prior to the breeding season.
4. All active stallions registered with the New Mexico Horse Breeders Association will be required to be vaccinated for EVA in subsequent years.
5. All shedder stallions are subject to rules and regulations promulgated by the New Mexico Livestock Board.
