Bigg Dee is out of Miss Woody Dee, an unplaced homebred daughter of the Dash Ta Fame stallion Woodbridge. The gelding’s second dam, the Mr Jess Perry mare Deeheiress, won the 2004 Miss Princess Handicap (G3) at Los Alamitos and produced Rollickin Red, a multiple 870 stakes winning half-brother to Miss Woody Dee.
Bigg Dee traces back to his third dam, Deelish, a daughter of 1987 world champion First Down Dash and the AQHA champion 2-year-old filly in 1998 and champion aged mare in 2000.
The Zia Quarter Horse stakes marked
Bigg Dee’s first start since May 15, when he ran second, a neck behind winner HS Golden Eagle, in the 400-yard, $100,000 Jimmy Drake Stakes (RG3) for New Mexico-breds at SunRay Park. The gelding has won 10 of 20 races -- including six of nine at Ruidoso Downs -- and he has banked $477,154.
Magnifico Dragon finished third, 3 3/4 lengths behind Bigg Dee, and was followed by Wish Bigg, Jess To Reel and The Calling.
Rex Wells’ Bigg Dee, a 4-year-old son of Big Daddy Cartel trained by James Gonzales III, broke sharply from his rail post and scored a wire- to-wire victory in the August 6, 400-yard Zia Quarter Horse Stakes (RG2) at Ruidoso Downs.
Ridden by Mario Delgado, Bigg Dee defeated 11-1 longshot Effortless Candy Cat by 1 3/4 lengths in :19.480. The bay gelding earned a 99 speed index while banking the $30,000 winner’s share of the $50,000 purse from his third graded stakes win.
Bigg Dee was bred by Mac and Janis Murray’s MJ Farms at Veguita, New Mexico, and he was purchased as a yearling by Wells for $30,000 at the 2019 New Mexico-Bred Sale. His sire, the 13-year-old Corona Cartel stallion Big Daddy Cartel, won three of five races and banked $121,800 while racing at Ruidoso Downs in 2011, and he was a finalist in the All American (G1) and Rainbow (G1) futurities.
From seven crops, Big Daddy Cartel has sired the earners of more than $14.2 million, including multiple graded stakes winners Bigg Daddy, Cat Daddys Lil Girl, and Mamacita
Runner-up Effortless Candy Cat races for Sebastian Gonzales. A 5-year-old gray son of the Feature Mr Jess stallion TF Featured Effort, the gelding has
won two of 22 outs and has earned $82,026.
Magnifico Dragon is a graded stakes winning Zulu Dragon gelding owned by Balderrama Racing LLC. The 8-year-old gelding has won nine of 46 races and has banked $486,347.

Hollywood Henry, a 7-year-old Roll Hennessy Roll gelding racing for Bennie A. Vanecek, won the August 6, $50,000 Sierra Blanca Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred Thoroughbreds at Ruidoso Downs.
Ridden by Luis Fuentes for trainer Fred Danley and sent to post as the 11-10 favorite
in a field of five, Hollywood Henry covered
5 1/2 furlongs in 1:03.53, and his margin of victory was three lengths from On A Warpath. The dark bay or brown gelding earned $30,000 from his fourth career stakes win.
Hollywood Henry was stretching out in distance off of his third-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Sigur Ros, in the open 4 1/2-furlong, $75,000 SunRay Park Stakes
at SunRay Park on May 14. The gelding was bred by Fred Alexander, and he is one of
110 winners from 157 starters sired by Roll Hennessy Roll, a son of the Storm Cat stallion Hennessy. Raced in five states, including
New Mexico and California, from 2002-04, Roll Hennessy Roll banked $173,869 from 12 starts, and his four wins included the 2002 Hollywood Prevue Stakes (G3) at Hollywood
Park and Ruidoso Thoroughbred Futurity at Ruidoso Downs.
Roll Hennessy Roll has sired 12 official black- type stakes winners and the earners of more than $8.04 million from 15 crops, including multiple stakes winners Back Seat Roll and Twixy Roll.
Hollywood Henry is also one of four winners from five starters produced by Ringback, a winning daughter of the Gone West stallion Gone Hollywood. The gelding is a half-brother to Fill The Bill, an Attila’s Storm filly who ran third in the 2020 Mountain Top Thoroughbred Futurity (R) at Ruidoso Downs.
Hollywood Henry’s second dam, the Kentucky- bred Phone Trick mare After The Beep, won the 2002 El Paso Times Handicap at Sunland Park
and Fair Queen Handicap at Albuquerque Downs. Campaigned exclusively in New Mexico, Hollywood Henry has won 11 of 32 races -- including eight of 13 at the 5 1/2-furlong distance -- and he has banked $418,365. The gelding’s stakes resume includes a 5 3/4-length victory in last year’s Sierra Blanca Stakes.
Cerveza ran third, 3 3/4 lengths behind Hollywood Henry. Diabolical Gator and Golden Band completed the order of finish.
Runner-up On A Warpath pocketed $10,500 for his owner, Amanda Sweeten, who claimed the 5-year-old Indian Firewater gelding for $7,500 at Ruidoso Downs on July 24, 2021. On A Warpath has won four of 23 outs and has earned $184,186.
A 5-year-old dark bay or brown son of Attila’s Storm, Cerveza was claimed by Amanda Sweeten and Luis Ramirez for $15,000 at SunRay Park on May 15. The gelding has won five of 27 races and has banked $150,708.
