                 WARM RED WINE

Warm Red Wine secured her first stakes win in the $50,000 Champagne Lane Stakes at the Downs at Albuquerque on Oct. 28.
With jockey Daniel Amaya in the irons, the
race favorite Warm Red Wine went wire-to-wire
and crossed the finish line first with a 3/4-length advantage. The sorrel filly stopped the timer at :17.170 and recorded a 102 speed index. The $29,000 winner’s share increased her bankroll to $122,568. Jose Meraz both owns and trains Warm Red Wine.
Meraz purchased Warm Red Wine at the 2020 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale for $40,000 from breeder MJ Farms. The filly was bred in New Mexico and is out of winner Sandys Fame, who has produced 16 winners from 20 starters including graded stakes winner Sandys Jesse, who won the 2013 New Mexico HBA Stakes-RG2 and the 2013 Sunburst Stakes.
Under jockey Emilio Tapia, First Flashin (First Moonflash-Stevie Six) took home the $10,000 runner’s up share of the purse for owner Victor Marroquin. The six year old is trained by Carlos Acosta, Jr. and she won the Rita Danley Distaff Stakes in June. Blue Riband (Winners Version- Blues Lil Corona) finished third with Jorge Nieto- Saenz in the saddle. Joaquin Gutierrez owns the five-year-old mare who is trained by Hector Chavez. Blue Riband was a finalist in the Zia Stakes-RG2 and the Jimmy Drake Stakes-RG3 this year.
The remaining order of finish was Brookes Legacy (Big Daddy Cartel-Apollitical Brooke), Big Daddys Dream (Big Daddy Cartel-Call My Dream), EZ On My Mind (Genuine Strawfly- Shirleys Honor), HS Golden Eagle (Osbaldo- Catchtherain), Pennie Wize (Big Daddy Cartel-Thirty Fourth Street), and Get Down Dragon (Zulu Dragon-Get Down Bambi). Little Scary Chic was scratched.
CIR LADY MOON

Cir Lady Moon keeps proving to be a dynamite claim. She captured her fourth stakes win of 2023 when coming home first in the Nov. 18 Las
Damas Handicap-G2 at Los Alamitos.
With Armando Cervantes aboard, Cir Lady
Moon popped out of the gate in third and quickly took command. She powered home to score by three- quarters of a length, getting 400 yards in :19.717.
Monty Arrossa trains Cir Lady Moon for Daniel and Carol Lee. In 2021 at Sweetwater Downs, the Lees claimed Cir Lady Moon for $8,000. The mare has now earned $171,875 and has won the 2023 Miss Princess Handicap-G3, Denim N Diamonds Handicap-G3, and Sound Dash Stakes and the 2022 Isaws Sugar Bear Stakes.
The Gary Robison Estate bred Cir Lady Moon in Utah from stakes-placed Cir Mark Of A Queen. Cir Lady Moon is the mare’s only starter.
Lil Longmire (A Revenant-Dee Zired), favored
and coming off a 2nd in the Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1, finished 2nd. Ridden by
Jose Nicasio, trained by Heath Taylor, and owned
by Ben Peterson, the 4-year-old filly won the 2022 Firecracker Derby-G3 at Delta Downs and 2021 Pocatello Downs Juvenile Challenge. Cruz Mendez rode Famous Shining Star (One Famous Eagle- Thewayouwantmetoo) to 3rd for owner Johnny Trotter and trainer Jose Flores. Famous Shining Star has won 5 stakes, including the 2023 Charger Bar Handicap-G1.
Completing the field were Sweet Tess (Apollitical Jess-Separate Thoughts), Gotta Corona Jess (Apollitical Jess-Gotta Corona Pop), She Goes Up (Seperate Interest-Up For It), Letty Cartel (Fast Prize Cartel-Letty Bail Regis Out), All Prettied Up (Favorite Cartel-Pretty Jet High), Cayenneoverthemoon (Brindis Por Cayenne- Dashmetothemoon), and Jess Dream Of Me (Apollitical Jess-Valiant Jess).
AINT HE TEMPTING

Aint He Tempting met his elders for the first time in the Nov. 12 Cerritos Handicap at Los Alamitos, and he responded with his first career stakes victory.
Favored at 9-5 against five rivals and drawn on the outside, Aint He Tempting got away well from the gate under jockey Armando Cervantes. He powered home strongly, especially in the final yards, to win by three-quarters of a length in :17.694 for 350 yards.
Monty Arrossa trains Aint He Tempting for Dunn Ranch, which bought the colt for $120,000 at the 2021 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale from the Lazy E Ranch consignment. Aint He Tempting ran second in the 2022 Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1 and has won three other races.
McColee Land & Livestock bred Aint He Tempting in Utah from Preslee The First, who has produced five winners in 11 starters, including multiple graded stakes winner Aint She Tempting who has lifetime earnings of $727,427. The second dam, stakes winner First Carolina, is also the dam of Rainbow Futurity-G1 winner Ms First Prize Rose and two other stakes winners.
Jesus Ayala rode El Aventurero (Docs Best Card- Copauino Diva) to second for owner J. Francisco Diaz and trainer Lindolfo Diaz. El Aventurero
had won two of 10 prior races. Dr. Steve Burns’ homebred You Can Run (Favorite Cartel-You Can Fly) finished third with jockey Jose Nicasio aboard. Mike Casselman trains the 6-year-old gelding,
who won the 2021 Go Man Go Handicap-G1 and California Breeders Sprint Stakes.
Completing the field were Nevada Charles (Fly Thru The Fire-Nymph), Dasha Good
Reason (Good Reason SA-Dasha Freda), and Cactus Jack (Kiddy Up-Bouquet). Dasha Dynasty was scratched.
