The $200,000 co-high seller was Hip #424 Hes Bulletproof. The colt was consigned by Bob Moore Farms, LLC, agent, and purchased by Lisa Miladinovich.
The 45th annual Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale in Oklahoma City took place Jan. 19-21. The American Quarter Horse Association announced their 2022 Champions the previous evening on Jan. 18.
The sale closed with across-the-board increases in gross, average and median. A total
of 705 horses sold compared to 694 in 2022. The average price increased 5% to $22,242 compared to $21,280 in 2022, and the median price increased 11% to $15,000 compared to $13,500 in 2022. Total sales soared for a 6% increase with $15,680,600 in gross receipts.
“We want to thank all of our customers and wish everyone success on their purchases. What a great way to kick off the year!” said Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney.
The co-high sellers were a four-year-old Quarter Horse gelding and a three-year-old Appaloosa colt, both selling for $200,000 each.
Hip #439 Jess Savin Candy (Jess Good Candy-Savin Grace, Papasito) was consigned by Jim Streelman and Bill Dale, Lazy E Ranch LLC, Agent. Purchased by Carmen Arevalo – HV Ranch, the four-year-old bay gelding was the 2021 Champion 2 Year Old and Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding. He is out of stakes placed Savin Grace and his second dam is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Chicks Cartel. Jess Savin Candy, who won the Rainbow Futurity-G1 and the Ruidoso Futurity-G1, is currently in training.

Purchased by Lisa Miladinovich, the three-year-old chestnut Appaloosa colt is a multiple stakes winner in the Cricket Bar Futurity and Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Juvenile. He is out of a winning half- sister to 4 ApHC Champions including ApHC Horse of the Year You R My Sunshine, and his second dam is ApHC Hall of Fame Horse Perfect Intention. Hes Bulletproof set a new record for an Appaloosa sold at auction when he sold for $200,000, and he has been named the 2022 Appaloosa Supreme Champion 2 Year Old and the Champion 2-Year-Old Colt of 2022.
