The 42nd annual Heritage Place Yearling Sale was help Sept. 25-26 in Oklahoma City. This year’s sale was held over a 2-day period and showed promising signs even with the current COVID-19 pandemic. Preliminary results showed that 552 of the 602 yearlings offered were sold for a gross amount of $14,710,700, with 92% of the horses offered sold. The sales average was up 13% to $24,124 from the 2019 average of $21,391.

The highest seller at $129,000 was Hip #638 Motiveighted (Corona Cartel-Celtic Emblem, Apollitical Jess) consigned by Bobby D. Cox and purchased by Dunn Ranch. The brown colt is by World Champion sire/World Champion brood- mare sire Corona Cartel and out of Grade 3 Easy Jet Stakes winner Celtic Emblem, who also ran second in the 2016 All American Derby-G1.
The second highest seller at $128,000 was Hip #374 Griffindore (Corona Cartel-Little Surfer, First Down Dash) consigned by Lazy E Ranch LLC, Agent for McColee Land & Live- stock LLC and purchased by Jimmy Harrel. The bay colt is also by leading sire Corona Cartel and out of New Track Record setter Little Surfer, who is also a 2-time stakes winner. Griffindore
is full-brother to 2-time Champion Uncle D, stakes winner Rip Tide and Graded stakes placed winner Call Me Cole.
