Some Kinda Man and Dash For Cash came together in the great race mare Dashs Dream. She is the 1984 World Champion, Champion 3 Year Old and Champion 3-Year-Old Filly and the 1985 Champion Aged Mare. Dashs Dream won the 1984 Champion of Champions-G1, 1984 All American Derby-G1 and 1985 All American Gold Cup-G1. Through Dash for Cash and Some Kinda Man, we see a breeding pattern of 4 X 3 to Go Man Go in the pedigree of Dashs Dream.
1975 All American Derby-G1 winner Vim And Vigor is the leading money earner sired by Go Man Go. This filly represents the Go Man Go/Depth Charge cross, as her dam is Double Queen by Double Bid. The dam of Double Queen is Miss Widow by Depth Charge.
Go Maggie Go (Maggie McGowan by Three Bars) is the only stakes placed foal
by Go Man Go that we will profile from
the 1962 foal crop. She was third in the 1971 Lassie Stakes. Go Maggie Go is the dam of four stakes horses with two stakes winners. Some Romance is a Go Maggie
Go stakes winner in the 1978 Bay Meadows Futurity. Some Romance is the dam of two stakes winners, Throb, who had two stakes wins including the 1986 Oklahoma Derby Division 1, and Some Dasher, winner of the 1993 Heritage Place Derby-G1 and 1993 Speedhorse Sprint Derby. Some Dasher is the 1993 Champion 3-Year-Old Colt and is a million-dollar sire with foal earnings of over $6.6 million.
Game Plan is the second Go Maggie
Go stakes winner. He won the 1976 Bay Meadows Futurity and the 1976 Leo Handicap. Game Plan is a million-dollar sire with earnings of $3.8 million. The role of Game Plan today is highlighted through his daughter Sweet Game, a stakes winner of the 1982 Sophomore Handicap. Sweet Game is the dam of Sweet Beduino, a stakes placed runner in races like her second in the 1987 Santa Cruz County Futurity. Sweet Beduino is the dam of five stakes winners, including One Sweet Dash, winner of the 1998 Prescott Downs Futurity-G3. One Sweet Dash is the dam of 2012 World Champion One Dashing Eagle and 2010 Golden State Million Futurity-G1 winner One Sweet Jess. Both stallions are million-dollar sires, with One Sweet Jess having earnings of over $5 million and One Dashing Eagle with earnings of over $2 million.
Sweet Beduino is the dam of Walk Thru Fire, a son of First Down Dash by Dash For Cash. He is a race winner that today
is a respected sire of over $34 million.
His top runners include 2005 Champion
World Champion/3-time Champion Dashs Dream (below), who is by Dash For Cash and out of Southern Streaker by
Some Kinda Man, has a breeding pattern of 4x3 to Go Man Go.
2 Year Old/Champion 2-Year-Old Filly Higher Fire. The dam of Higher Fire is Higher Math, whose dam is Add A Dash by Dash For Cash. Add A Dash is out of Go Together, a daughter of Go Harriett by Go Man Go. This gives Higher Fire a breeding pattern of 6 X5 to Go Man Go through Sweet Game and Go Harriett.
These two mares come down the pedigree through the tail female line of her sire Walk Thru Fire and her dam Higher Math. When we add in the two crosses to Dash For Cash found in Higher Fire, we have a breeding pattern of 6 X 6 X 6 X 5 to Go Man Go
in Higher Fire, who is the dam of 2017 All American Futurity-G1 winner Fly Baby Fly.
St Pats Tea is a mare that gives us another example of the Go Man Go influence through the tail female line. Winner of the 2001 Louisiana Champions Day Derby-RG2 and the 2001 TQHA Sires’ Cup Derby-RG3, St Pats Tea is the dam of three stakes winners, including 2014 Charger Bar Handicap-G2 winner Native Tea Rose; 2006 Firecracker
Derby-G2 winner St Pats First; and Bodacious Dash, winner of the 2010 Texas Classic Futurity-G1.
St Pats Tea is by Mr Jess Perry and out of Shes My Tea by Hemp Meyers. Hemp Meyers is by Hempen TB and is out of Miss Fancy Meyers by Mr Meyers by Go Man Go. The dam of Shes My Tea is Native Tea by Sparkling Native TB and Native Tea is out of Miss Go Moore by Go Moore Go
by Go Man Go. This gives Shes My Tea a breeding pattern of 4 X 4 to Go Man Go. It is common to see inbreeding like this in the tail female line of many pedigrees.
The interest of the Vessels Stallion Farm in Go Man Go didn’t end when they sold their share to Mel Hatley in 1963. Their continued use of Go Man Go led to his mating with Do Good Bam that produced Ought To Go in 1967. This mare would be a race winner that formed a powerful female line for the Vessels Stallion Farm.
Ought To Go produced three stakes winners: Fishers Favorite, Garland
