NCQHRA Futurity
JESS DOIN TIME

Jess Doin Time posted her second stakes win at Canterbury Park this summer in the $45,000 North Central QHRA Futurity on Aug. 11. Breaking in second from the 3-gate, Jess Doin Time ran at or near the front for the entirety of the race, crossing the wire 1/2-length in front.
They completed the 350 yards in :17.667 for a 103 speed index.
Home-bred by Tom Pouliot, the two-year-old filly won the Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity on July 8 as an underdog, but she was the pre-race favorite for this race. This latest win reaped a $22,500 payday that pushed her lifetime earnings to $101,288.
Jess Doin Time is one of two stakes winners out of 3-time winner Lenas Rare Lady. She has produced three blacktype runners from four starters, including Lien On Me, who won the 2011 Bob Morehouse Memorial/Cash Caravan and Tres My Tracks, who posted four runner-up finishes in stakes events from 2012 to 2013.
“From birth, we thought she was special,” Pouliot reminisced.
Another Olmstead trainee, Apollitical Mogul (Apollitical Jess-Cash Cartel) finished second under Denny Velazquez for owners Tom and Bill Maher.
Zoes Sassy Miracle (Capo de Capi-Homemade Miracle) and Julian Serrano finished third for owners Lowell, Becky & Lynn Husman and trainer Mark Barnes.
Sunlight Seven (Valiant Hero-Midnight Sunlight), Thisbetterwork (One Famous Eagle-A Sweet Gamble), Ive Got This (Favorite Cartel-LK Classy Perk), Ima JJ Junior (Jesse James Jr-Race Track Chick), CR Lil Bron (PYC Paint Your Wagon-LW Evening Lajolla) and BHR Flashing Effort (CS Flashlight-BHR Missy Special) completed the order of finish. Frenemies scratched.
Cash Caravan Stakes
DICKEY BOB

Dickey Bob got the best of his full brother, PYC Jess Bite Mydust, to win the $39,500 Cash Caravan Stakes at Canterbury Park on Aug. 11.
The gelding broke on top from the 4-gate, led by a 1/2-length at the first call, widened the gap to a full length as he entered the stretch, then held off a late charge by his brother to finish first by a head in the 400-yard race.
Denny Velazquez was aboard for the wire-to- wire trip which was completed in :20.039 for a 98 speed index.
Dickey Bob is now 2-0 in head-to-head meetings with his four-year-old sibling, PYC Jess Bite Mydust. Dickey Bob also won the Bob Morehouse Stakes at Canterbury in July and now holds three victories in stakes company with six total wins in 13 starts. The $19,750 payday improved the gelding’s cumulative bankroll to $96,575.
Lunderborg, LLC, home-bred both Dickey Bob and his brother, while Jason Olmstead trains both horses, and won the trainer title for the Canterbury Park meet.
Lunderborg, LLC, also owns Paint Or More, the dam of Dickey Bob. Paint Or More also had black type with a victory in the 2011 version of the North Central QHRA Futurity. Dickey Bob and PYC Jess Bite Mydust are her only foals.
Cristian Esqueda rode PYC Jess Bite Mydust (Apollitical Jess-Paint Or More) to his runner-up fin- ish. The gelding was the top performer at the 2016 meet at Canterbury. Rey D Arranque (Afterallitsme- Jazzing Jackie) finished third under Marcus Swiontek for owner Eric Castro and trainer Randall Weidner.
Gramma Ella (Knud With Wings- Whereshesupposedtobe), Curious James (Ivory James- Takin On The Crunch), Polar Xpress (Freighttrain B-Zoomshakalaka) and Blacks Cartel (Streakin Six Cartel-Brandi Whiz) completed the the order of finish. Streak N Sparks scratched.

HTR MIAMOR TEQUILLA

HTR Miamor Tequilla earned the first stakes win
of his career proving best in the $25,000 Skip Zimmerman Stakes at Canterbury Park on on Aug. 10.
Berkley Packer, who rode Blue Eyed Andy to a win in the Mean Competitor Stakes in the previous race, made a quick return to the winner’s circle. HTR Miamor Tequilla broke alertly and dueled throughout the 350-yard dash and edged clear approaching the wire, defeating race favorite Corona Springs a 1/2-length. HTR Miamor Tequilla covered the distance in :17.593, posting a 105 speed index.
HTR Miamor Tequilla brought home the $12,500 winner’s share of the purse for owner/breeder HTR Stables LLC and trainer Edward Hardy, boost- ing his total lifetime earnings to $65,550.
HTR Stables LLC bred HTR Miamor Tequilla out of multiple stakes placed runner Sheila Tequilla. Runner-up in the 2016 Moonstone Stakes, she also had two third place attempts in the 2013 Crystal River Stakes and 2016 Sailfish Stakes all ran at Hialeah Park. Sheila Tequilla has produced 100% money earners from two starters. HTM Miamor Tequilla is her first stakes winner and top earner.
Corona Springs (Corona Cartel-Aquafina) and Cristian Esqueda were second for owner Thomas Scheckel and trainer Jason Olmstead.
Bye Byefreighttrain (Freighttrain B-Bye Bye Bygones) finished third under Roberto Valero for owner L.P. Frank and trainer Shawna Manriquez.
Painted Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Tygers Painted Girl), Bout Tree Fiddy (Ivory James-Hollie Jollie), Gold Diggin Queen (Tres Seis-Its Good To Be Queen), Olivias Jett (Desirio-Hollie Jollie), First Of 15 (Apollitical Jess-Tinys Corona Queen) , Jr Rock Star (Fantastic Corona Jr-One Famous Rock Star) and La Mos PYC (PYC Paint Your Wagon-La Mos Chingono) completed the order of finish. EOS Wing Man, Fowl Play, Jjsir James and Marfilmio were scratched.
